Introduction
Al-Khidmat Welfare Society (AKWS) a non government
and non profit organization, is engaged in helping the
poor and the destitute. Formally registered in 1976,
but it started its welfare mission with the creation
of Pakistan on 14 August 1947, while grieved caravans
were reaching from across the frontiers. It established
relief camps, provided emergency services and engaged
in the rehabilitation work beyond self.
In the recent times, Al-Khidmat has been running various
community service projects with the help of several
generous donors. The main source of funding is the skin
of sacrificial animals collected during Eid-ul-Azha.
It is the pioneer of the fund-raising by such method
in Pakistan. The only spirit which has enabled Al-Khidmat
to grow into major welfare institution of the country
is the selfless devotion of its members towards serving
the suffering humanity.
Vision
Hand-in hand we go to serve the deserving. That is
what Al-Khidmat believes in. Through various community
service projects and with the help of several generous
donors, Al-Khidmat is engaged in helping people with
little or no resources. With the high spirit and devotion
of its members, Al-Khidmat facilitates people in the
fields of health, education emergency relief and other
community services.
Mission
To serve the oppressed humanity. To provide basic
needs of life to the people who lack in health, education,
food and shelter. To provide help to the people affected
by natural calamities like famine, storm, earthquakes,
flood and epidemics.
Islam is the ultimate source of peace and guidance for
social development. So we try to bring the people close
to the religion and constitute an ideal society.
